A nature based, therapeutic experience.
What kind of workshop is it?
Thrive Wellness Workshop is a nature-based therapy group comprised mostly of youth, who gather outdoors and collaborate together to deepen our connection with nature and ourselves. Surrounded by the calming and healing power of nature, we focus teachings on self-care, healthy coping skills, and bolstering well-being while engaging in hikes, group discussions, mindful activities, and lessons in basic safety and respect for nature. We hope that participants learn the joys of being immersed in and caring for nature, and to complete the workshop feeling more connected, empowered and wild! We host several workshops throughout the year, varying in format, age group and location.
What makes this therapy?
Within the structure of our workshops, we identify shared and individual challenges and stressors, which we address from a psychological standpoint (i.e. discussion, teaching coping skills, expression). Participants are not required to have a mental health condition or even a significant concern in their life, however this is a place for someone with aforementioned concerns*.
Most everyone goes through life with some conflict, ailment or stress. Thrive’s structure allows us to support youth to work through problems, and provide guidance on how to cope healthfully with different issues we individuals carry. Often, participants share common experiences, stresses and fears, which grants us all ample opportunities to help one another and ourselves.
