Working with the community

S.A.F.E. Coalition
The Ojai Valley Youth Foundation is a founding partner of the S.A.F.E. (Substance Abuse Free Environment) Coalition. The mission of the SAFE Coalition is to improve the health and wellness of the people of the Ojai Valley by actively reducing substance abuse among 12-24 year-olds. We are using an environmental policy approach to change the environment so that: it is more difficult for youth to get drugs and alcohol; it is more difficult for them to find places where they can use them and not get caught and, when they do get caught, the consequences are more significant. Neighborhood for Learning
The Ojai Valley Youth Foundation is a proud partner in the Ojai Valley Neighborhood for Learning (NfL). Funded by a grant from First 5 Ventura County, the Ojai Valley NfL is a group of local businesses, schools, and individuals working together to increase enrichment and support for young children, age 0 - 5 so that they will be ready for school success. We offer a Family Festival every year, a myriad of activities during TV Turn Off Week, scholarships to families for preschool, and mini-grants to those wishing to provide services.
